The clouds that have been cramping my meteor watching style all week look like they’ll be breaking later tonight. We’re driving to a spot that is about the darkest we can get to without having to drive for two or more hours.
Hopefully, there will still be a good show tonight. Did anyone get out over the last few nights to view the shower? I saw some pics from last night that were amazing. I’ll post anything I get tomorrow. Heading out in about two hours. Need to pack my gear and get some caffeine!
Oh, the lead pic is one I took last year at a fairly dark, but still light polluted spot. Here’s one more from that night.

Is there a shower? I saw the Pleiades shower and it was amazing, even though I live less than 30 minutes from Indianapolis. Got 5 or 6 huge streaks directly overhead.

If only it were not still 85 degrees outside at nearly 10pm! The heat sapped all of my energy out too. It is supposed to be pretty clear out though. If only I were closer to actually dark areas.

Ah, it was actually this shower last year. I just forgot the name. Really cool to see, though.

It wasn’t too bad out down here tonight. Kinda cool for this time of year. But the whole thing was a giant clusterfuck. Too much moon. Almost rolled The Ranger and got it stuck for a few minutes in muck up to the axle. Missed a SpaceX launch... Good times.

And only saw one meteor, but the camera wasn't pointed at it.
